Have you been wearing ugly shoes all along?

 questionable shoes of Nike

Nike has always  been known for their stylish sneakers that you see on people all over the world, with their creative designs of all different types of sneakers but Recently there has been a question on everyone's minds, are these Nike shoes the new fashion? Or are they just getting more and more hideous. There have been a lot of new Nike sneaker releases over the years, and some of them are starting to get questionable. The new undetectable fashion has everyone wondering where the line is between “fashion” and “ugly”

The Nike x Undercover Overbreak “snail” sneakers

The Nike x Undercover Overbreak built by Jun Takahashi came out February 19th 2021, when these were released lots of people on twitter were going crazy about these new sneakers, soon later then got the nickname the “snail shoe.” There were many people waiting for these shoes when they came out. They were a success and were sold out in February, soon after, the Nike fanatics got another chance in March to pick up these kicks. They were then selling the  “overcast” and “black” colorways, many people made reviews about these funky sneakers, they explained how they were comfortable and the bottom of the shoe definitely gave you some height. But you still may be wondering what this shoe is.  If you wanna hear the nitty gritty here it is, it is a mix of suede and mesh the  rose embroidery you see on the side branding from undercover previous collab’s, the second undercover branding on the shoe is the words ``chaos” and “balance” on the toe box. But the question still lies: are these shoes fashionable, or just plain old ugly?

Concepts x Nike SB Dunk “Ugly Christmas Sweater”

Did you ever want a ugly Christmas sweater in a shoe?... yeah me either. This shoe definitely raised some eyebrows, especially for the cost of this “ugly” shoe at $125 on the release date of December 2d 2017 and now the prices go as high as 800+, This idea came from 2013 “ ugly Christmas sweater” color way of the shoe, if you get a close look you’ll see the shoe has snowflakes, presents, snowman, gingerbread, mistletoe, and a blue swoosh with blue laces, and also a red liner. Surprisingly even though the shoes are pretty hideous they sold very fast they had another release date and many more sold, on other highly used shoe websites like Stockx and GOAT these shoes price skyrocketed, previous collaborations with “concept” were also questionable they had lots of talk on the media such as The TURDUCKEN collection. The shoes are made out of the classic dunk silhouette from a multi colored stitch then after that they put a high quality print of the Christmas sweater, Besides men’s the shoe also comes in kids and toddler sizes which all include four lace sets, if you were these out on the court I’m sure that Santa will see your Christmas spirit!

Travis Scott x Nike air force 1 low “cactus jack”

The Travis Scott collaboration was definitely a weird one he came out with a lot of shoes with Nike this was by far the oddest one, Travis Scott is an American rapper Who Is in seen Nike air forces in lots of his concert and paparazzi photos,  The shoe dropped in November 16th 2019 , The shoe is supposed to look like a Texas theme Air Force showing off Travis Scott‘s Texas roots, The shoe has camouflage, corduroy, duck canvas, leather, wool, suede, flannel, and a bunch of natural tones and outdoorsy prints. The very strange thing about the shoe is that it has no shoe laces in the front of the shoe instead it has a very thick zipper, this definitely made me feel a certain way about the shoe, no offense Travis. Travis has been doing a lot of collaborations with different brands such as McDonald’s, Nike and Reesie‘s puffs, and many more. Lots of people went crazy about Travis Scott’s previous collaborations with Nike and this one was no different, they cost 160$ which is not too bad for a collaboration shoe from a well known artist. The question is would you rock these Travis Scott monstrosities?

SB Dunk Low Pro x Grateful Dead

These vibrant shoes are stealing the stage, this surprising collaboration had everyone on their toes, the band Grateful Dead came out with a collaboration with Nike and made these furry colorful creative shoes. But don’t let the fuzz fool you, there is still many words of criticism about these kicks, they came out with three different colorways the “orange bear” came out July 18 the “green bear” and the “yellow bear” these came out on July 24 of 2020, on the shoe it has The dancing bear brand logo of Grateful Dead, as well as the “steal your face” logos in this in soul of the shoe The shoe is covered in false fur and the fuzzy looking swoosh brings it all together. The shoe was originally $110 but now it goes as high as $1200+, depending on the colorway. All the die hard Grateful Dead fans Love the shoes, they went crazy for them and they sold out for a short while, people started reselling them and that’s where the crazy price comes from. Do you think these might just be too daring for you? Or are you willing to take on the fuzzy sneaker craze?

Now that you’ve seen just a few of the very questionable shoes that Nike has made, would you be one of the people to cop these unique shoes?  Throughout the article you’ve seen a lot of people take the chance of buying the shoes either to strike a pose down the street or resell them for 10x times the price, there will be many more disagreement on the media about more shoes in the future, and we will be here to tell you about them all.
