By Robert Baker

Buying shoes can really run your pockets. However, if you are looking for casual shoes that have style for under $150, I can help out with that. I have 7 shoes that many of you know that can help with everyday style on a budget.

New Balance 574

One of the staples of the New Balance brand, the 574 is one of the more underrated shoes that the brand has to offer. Although it is by far their most popular shoe, this shoe appeals because it starts at a cheap $79.99. New Balance is known for having affordable casual shoes and great running shoes and the 574 is made for both. The midsole foam is a recycled source to help the reducing of our carbon footprint and the midsole combines a soft foam with a polyurethane rim.

Nike Classic Cortez

This gem of a shoe was originally one of Phil Knight’s early Nike track shoes back in the early 70’s and now it has turned into a Nike icon. The Cortez comes in at a low price of $60. This is a great bargain considering the resell price for these shoes can start at a whopping $180. The design was made for a runner, but can serve as a comfortable build as it is overlaid at the toe with a durable synthetic leather and the heel is raised for a firm arch support.

Nike SB Dunk Low

This show is a blast from the past. The Nike Dunk Lows first came out in the 80’swith a sleek look blended with the designs of the Air Force 1s and the Jordan 1s. The shoe has a very high reselling price with many celebrities like Travis Scott having their own Collab going for an insane $200k. The starting price is $90 but it will be hard to find cheaper shoes. This classic is made out of leather that resembles the older Dunk Lows and it has a rubber sole that makes you feel classy.

Converse All Star High/ Low Top

This shoe will never go away. Whether you go with the high or low top, Converse has made this shoe to go with any style of your liking. Starting at an affordable price of $65. The shoe is unisex and supports your arch better than most shoes available on the market. The insole is made with Ortholite for cushioning and the tongue is a classic woven with the iconic license plate of Chuck Taylor.

Adidas Superstars

Also known as the Stan Smith’s, the Superstars are another classic show that tends to be slept on. Made famous by legendary hip hop group Run DMC, this shoe has been around for decades and has been a fan favorite due to the show being so affordable; with prices starting as low as $72. This shoe is made for people who love to walk in comfort and also made for long distances. The shoe starts with a leather upper base and textile lining mixed with a rubber outsole and midsole. 25% of the material used to make this shoe is with 50% recycled content making the shoe reusable for the future.

Nike Air Force 1s

If this shoe isn’t in your closet right now, I do not know what to tell you. In 2002, the rapper Nelly made a song about these shoes and the rest is history. Originally introduced in 1982, the Air Force 1s are an essential and iconic shoe for basic style. This shoe can pair with any color and style and you can get them in any color. Starting at $99, these shoes have very high resell value and for good reason. The material is made originally for hoopers with a clean leather stitched overlay and a foam midsole with a rubber sole that also perforates on the toe. You can say that this shoe was one of the foundations for low cut performance shoes and many 80’s shoes were high tops.

Nike Air Max 90

Nike seems to bring back the classics at the right time and the Air Max 90 is no different. Made with Nike Air technology on the heel, the Air Max 90 provides comfort at the heel for a smooth balance of comfort and support. The shoe originally came out in 1987 made for training and running but now the shoe is a lifestyle. Like the Air Force 1, this shoe grounded a foundation for the newer Nike training shoes like the Air Max 120 and  this shoe is as iconic and the Nike brand itself. The shoe is made with a textile upper base with leather and a  synthetic overlay that combines with a foam midsole patterned with a rubber waffle outsole that adds additional traction and support for all ages.
